Wall-Hung Curiosities
Height: Length: Width:
Materials: Ash, Dyed Cherry, Ash and Walnut Veneer
Description: Mitered ash case with bent laminated branch protruding out. Frame and panel door with marquetry. One drawer.
This curiosity cabinet was an exploration in sculpture through the medium of furniture. The marquetry on the door panel invokes looking through a forest, almost as if it conceals what’s on the other side. When you open the door you reveal the branch that was peeking through the sides of the case. The piece both serves as a curiosity in itself but also a depository for curiosity found in nature.
